shutter/jerky feeling when taking off
When I take off if I give it alot of fuel it shutters and bucks pretty hard and it does it more with a load behind it it is an automatic so I thought it might be the tranny or the converter or maybe the valve body but not sure. Was just wondering if something like this has happened to anyone else and if they might know how to fix it thanks. Its a 92 with overdrive

dose it go through all the gears smoothly after takeoff
|
yes and it pulls just fine after you get going just when taking off and if you are rolling along pretty good and stomp your foot in it it shutters a little until it downshifts then its smooth and accelerates then shifts back to drive just fine but dosent do it in overdrive.

My 2nd gen (1995) does the same thing. 1st gear take off from idle only. Hoping a good shift kit will cure this.

What you described sounds to me like an uneven pressure plate on a manual tranmission. Im not familiar with auto's but somethin to do with the clutches in the transmission.

Adjust the bands:tu:
|
I'll give that a try. Easy enough to do.

How do you adjust the bands
|
There was a convo about it a little while ago, maybe some one will chime in on exactly how to do it. But the shuttering was one of the symptoms that they were talking about with incorrect band adjustment.

U-joints did the same thing to me.....if that helps
