Throttle Position Sensor
i am in need of a new tps. i have heard about these pentiometer or however it's spelled...are they good and worth the 37.00? also is there anyplace that sells regular tps's for less than 100.00?
|
They are good and work, I know of no TPS's for that price. I assume you have tried adjusting it?
|
yes i have. it was working great then started coming out of overdrive at about 65 and not going back in. now it wont go into od at all even after adjustment
|
try dnrcustoms.com
they build a kit for thirty dollars it includes the wiring harness don't have any experience with it it is on the things to try list |

And yes DNR makes a nice set-up. |
adjust the tps for voltage
remove tps from the bracket turn upside down there is a bolt in the bottom of the tps this bolt engages the throttle lever adjust this bolt + or - to get the correct voltage required this should resolve the shifting problem if the tps is still in good order |
He said he has already adjusted it, still not working/
|
go back to the basics
ground ground ground might just be a dirty one? bad end on the cable? |
I used my factory scan tool and reset the minimum/origin of the TPS sensor. it still read fine, but shifted out of OD at all speeds. I think it may have been an intermittent glitch so i ordered a DNR potentiomiter. fixed it right away and very simple to install. i drilled a hole next to my headlight switch for the knob.
