the trucks with the gas engine unless they are one ton usually have dana 44 front axles. it also at best has a dana 60 rear. the 60 is kinda light but would prob work. ur diesel has a dana 70 in the rear. the dana 44 in the front however just aint hardly gonna cut it. it would prob last a little while but it aint safe. the front springs attached to the 44 def. aint gonna take it.

the 2wd 727 has the wrong tail shaft to work with a transfere case. also the t-case in that gas truck isnt gonna take it. u would need a trans and transfere case from a 1989 to 1993 dodge diesel.

to do what ur talkin about all ur really gonna use from the 4x4 truck is the frame. u would use the rear axle and engine from the diesel. would need to find a front axle(preferably the same ratio as ur rear axle so u dont have to change the gears), front springs, trans, t-case, and both drivelines. i could help u out but it looks like ur the whole way across the country.

itd probably end up being cheaper and a heck of alot easier to sell all the stuff you have, and use that money to just buy a 4wd dodge truck

I was hoping to avoid using my rear axle because i have the spicer rearend with 3.07 gears. I was going to ask around and see if anyone locally like a trans shop would trade my tranny for the 4x4 version.

like i said before its going to be way easier just to find one already done. just a front 60 alone is going to cost a very pretty penny. save yourself a bunch of headaches time and money and just get one already done. sell your 2wd one and make your money back

No you have a Dana 70 with 3.07 gears...

Go buy a 4x4 truck with a Cummins or find a W300 with a Dana 60 front...

I thought it was a spicer but it really is the same thing because spicer is owned by dana right?
