Default another wastegate hx40 questions

hey guys after gettin on my truck hard today, i noticed i was only maxin out at 20psi of boost and still dumpin smoke everywhere.

the wastegate is really hard to adjust as i cant really get to it. so would it be bad just to wire it all the way open? that way i dont have to keep messin with it and i can still get good boost numbers out of it.

i know 20psi isnt right with all my mods, id assume id be alot higher than that

will a wastegate limit my max spool up, or will i still hit max spool and just take longer to get there? thanks

i would take the wastegate out of the picture and see where egts and boost go and then determine if its needed at all

Get a boost elbow, Yuo can adjust the boost the wastegate sees very easy.

It will install were teh tube to for your wastegate goes into the housing. It has a spring and ball in it with a small screw adjustment. Buy tightining the screw you make it so that you need more boost to overcome teh spring. That means it takes more boost to activate the wastegate.

Here is a pic of the set-up on mine, I run my wastegate pretty loose and use teh boost elbow/fooler to adjust as needed, I can make it so its open right away or so that i does not open at all, all by turning that little screw you see...

oh thats a cool little setup. where would i get one of those at? so if i had one i would just pretty much open my wastegate all the way and use the elbow instead of the wastegate actuator?

Most our sponcors can get you one.

Copy my pic over there so they know exactly what you want. I would leave your wastegate where it is now and just use the elbow to control it.

ok cool thanks. so this will make the wastegate open all the way faster without actually messing with the actuator at all? or will it only open the wastegate as far as the actuator allows it too
