62/65/12 S300
Who makes the S300? got a guy that will see if he can get me an even cheaper price then another feller.
Thanks |
scwitzer (spell?) makes most of them that are considered a S300...i would go with a Phat shaft turbo from Industrial Injection instead...seem to be able to hold higher PSI better, just my opinion and im sure people will disagree with me
|
i have the industrial injection super phat shaft 62/71/14 on my truck and i do have to say it was the best investment for my truck

IF your going for a bone stock S300 (like right off a stock application) a HX40 will flow more air. Any one that has been worked from a manufacturer though will beat its ass!
|
since we're on the subject of the S300. schwitzer is known for being ball bearing turbo's... is the S300 a ball bearing turbo?
|
no its not. Its a oil jornal turbo like the stocker.
|
so I shouldn't get a 62/65/12? that's what everone was reccomnading to me not to long ago.
|
the S300 is still a really good turbo. everyone has their opinions. i've heard alot about both the phat shaft and the S300. schwitzer has a pretty prestegious name and i'm partial to them. so; either one will work fine for your application provided that it is built with the correct housing, turbine, and compressor wheel.
on a different note; what model ball bearing turbo would fit and be comparable to the S300? |

However, if it is all out performance you are looking for, a 62/71/14 would be the turbo I would look for. Laggier than an HX40, but if done correctly will support much more air. Me personally, I wouldn't go with a 62/65. I thought about it, but the high rwhp 1st Gen guys didn't advise it. Said the choking from the 62/65 isn't worth the better spool up. These are all opinions of course. I know guys with 62/65's that love them. I know you can find brand new Super 40's for under 1K, but a comparable Schwitzer is considerably more. I'm going with a Super HX40 myself. |
