98 duramax turbo on a 1st gen
what is the 96 duramax turbo?
will it work easily on the ole 1st gen? what size is it? thanks oh it was free thats why i ask |
there was no duramax in 96. You mean teh 6.5?
|
the 6.5 turbo (not a duramax-they didn't come out til 2001) only makes like 7lbs of boost, so no i don't think you would want to try that just because the 1st gen one is better, and to get any 2001-later duramax turbo to work you'd need a stand alone vane controller for it being as it's a variable geometry turbo gonna probably be more work than it's worth to get it running correctly
|
typo its a 98 not a 96
i cant find anything about it anywhere ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- what would be a good twin to the H1C w/a 60mm upgrade? |
Nope, still a 6.5.
Turbo wont work! |

The VVT turbo was not put on the first Gen Duramax(LB7) so no vane controller would be needed.

should probly ask how to do this
how do i do the 60mm upgrade? and is there any thing i need to know? |
not really, I did a hybrid build here on the site. Search around for it and it will step by step you!
