yeah hes run it dry more than once and after bleeding injectors and getting it started it smoking blue/white but this problem got to the point where the truck would smoke out a 4 lane highway and causing dead stop traffic and i ended up towing him home. could this have caused any further damage or potentially hurt the IP?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- also would the sudden rapid increase in fuel kick the lift pump? he never had an issue until we did he full power adjustment and 10 mins down the road it all started Sounds like it's sucking in air still to me. If it was already weak maybe but if it's leaking fuel I'd say it's def from getting air in the fuel. I say it's time for a new LP either way. I'd change it n if it still does it. obviously the LP is toast anyway. The pumps needs the fuel demand of the LP to keep em cool. If they don't get the fuel demand there not gonna last. |

Okay but it's NOT a turbo problem you guys. A bad seal will not cause it to run badly or smoke. I worked on a 90 with toast oil seals in the turbo, ran like a champ n never smoked. Started after sitting 2 years without the grids working it started easier then my p-pump and my truck at the time was warm.

All it has that the p-pump doesn't have is timing advance. I can tap my pedal n she will start just as easy or easier then a VE.

Oh, I found the injection pump rebuilder that could just about get it done with proper fueling mods as far as the LP goes. I already got the 900GPH fuel filter to do it with! :D
Just giving you a hard time Josh, I know the P-Pump is just about untouchable. :) I am really pleased overall with the VE pump so well, I will never mess with getting a P-Pump for my 1st Gens ever, just not worth all the losses to me. But I do want to P-Pump my Dad's 24 Valve if I ever get it. :D ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Sorry for the thread jack! :) ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- I'm kind of used to having open conversations with people on the threads of other people cause a friend of mine owns a Aquarium Reef Forum by himself, so we pretty much do what we want on there, its pretty kool, sorry for the threadjack. |

To be honest even with the mods my VE had I think my mildly modded non ic had more power. if both trucks had stock tires the 93 woulda destroyed the 90 I had. BUt Honestly I got my pump setup so well I get NO smoke at all n she lost a lil bit down low but passing power went way up with the p-pump. I have no complaints n isn't really any downfall over the VE except timing advance that's all. That would be a fun truck. If you can don't bother with a 160 or 175 horse pump there small fueling wise.
