POD injectors for 1992 intercooled D350

Want some feedback if you all that know would give me some on the POD injectors. I want these, I am not looking to make a total hotrod here, really want to replace the stock injectors which have over 300,000 miles on them and I hear they can come apart and fall off into the piston area and cause severe problems there. Not sure on that story, but that's what I have heard. I have a 5 speed in this truck and don't want to burn up the overdrive with too much power from the engine, I have heard this will happen if I turn it up too much with the 5 speed manual transmission, yet again, unconfirmed. I know for a fact an automatic can really handle the power of a Cummins 12 Valve turned up all the way stock, cause I have done it on my 1991.5 and had no issues what so ever. I hear and have read I could gain a considerable amount of power from the PODs and mileage too but they will smoke more if I do not stay out of the throttle. So, thoughts?:humm:

You would be happier with a 145* injector.

PODS are. Descent injectors, but smoky and hot. Your best bet would be get some 5x12s, and put fresh oil in the getrag (overall by a quart, so if you flushed it 5 quarts)

The Getrag stayed maintained, it always got changed, I'm going to put Royal Purple in it when I get it. I'll look into some 5x12's, thanks for the tip! Thanks.:rocking: Will look into the 145 injector too.

Were you talking about Dodge Cummins Diesel Truck DDP 12 Valve Injectors 275-100HP Nozzles 1989-1993 | eBay

Found some 5 x .18's, would that be too much injector for me?:humm:

What about 5 x .16 or 5 x .14 ?:humm:

It sounds like the 5 x .16's will work if I turn things up, according to the vendor.:rocking:

Spend the $$$ and get injectors with the correct spray angle

Luke

So what is the correct one?

Olgrey93 09-11-2012 01:45 AM

145* spray angle is the correct one for first gens

bladeyamaha 09-11-2012 08:22 AM

OK, finally found a site stating they have the 145 spray angle. Will these work then? 6x.012 425 HP injectors for 1st gen 145 degree spray pattern for IC motor:humm:

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I am remembering the stock Bosche VE Pump will only support 300 horsepower. Is this 300 horsepower number correct or am I remembering wrong? Does that mean the 6 x .012 injectors won't work or the 6 x .012 145 degree spray angle injectors will support up to 425 horsepower and they will work? :humm:
