I got anxious and just pulled the other 5 injectors. I ran the numbers on the nozzle and it came up as some "kookoodiesel" website. Looks shady.. Injector #4 had a good amount of oil on it and the pre heater screen was clean too. There are 4 holes in the tip.

those injectors are likely Pensacola Injection Injectors. they are notorious for selling 4 hole injectors. they are not the correct ones for our trucks, but they are CHEAP. I called and asked what size the holes were on their injectors and they told me the HP number, they didn't know the hole size.

what you want is a 5 hole injector. contact some of the sponsors on here they can sell you proper injectors.

5x0.010 - 5x0.012 seem to be a good mild injector, I think the 5x0.010 are close to stock, the 5x0.012 I believe are close to the "370HP Marine" injector, 5x0.014 are close to the "435HP" injector and the bigger you get the more custom they get, having to be tuned for the pump you have, timing needs and turbo, etc. I have a custom set of 5x0.016 built for my 13mm pump and twins setup. Southern Diesel Extreme built them for me.

SO, If you can find a stock set of 215 HP injectors out of a manual tranny truck you'd be better off than what you have in there now. heck a set of stock 180hp injectors will be better than those....

Thank you for that information, I really appreciate it. Definitely something to think about. Do you think these injectors could be the possibility of my poor running issue?

Benjamin 06-07-2012 09:00 PM

they are definitely the reason for the poor running condition. BUT that being said, I would invest in a fuel pressure gauge setup to see what the pressure is. the stock Llift pump is simple to change out if it is showing low pressure or you can upgrade to an AirDog or FASS.... just depends on how deep your pockets are and how much fuel you need. the stock lift pump can support decent HP....

Gauges will be coming in the near future. I understand my truck is no race car, so going crazy with mods isn't a priority. I'm glad you helped me with this. Thanks again.
