that doesnt seem difficult now on that elbow is there an alen screw in it to restrickt the flow

NMCUMMINS 01-25-2008 04:19 PM

depends on what brand you get, if it says "adjustable boost elbow" yes.

I know TST's used to, but not sure now
I know BD's does cause thats what I have
I know Source Automotives does

Here ya go http://www.sourceautomotive.biz/inde...ge=shop.browse

can i go to the local napa and pick up a ajustment valve that does the same thing for now

NMCUMMINS 01-26-2008 04:39 PM

You might be avle to make something work, but for the minimal cost of a boost elbow I wouldn't waste much time on it.

However as long as you have a boost gauge and you keep it under 35 psi, temporarally you could disconnect the boost line to the waste gate and plug it off. But at the same time without pushing more fuel to it don't be suprised it you don't see 35PSI.

IF he is trying to run that kind of pressure and use the stock fueliing plate it will not see 35lbs of boost. He will need some type of fueling plate to get the bigger boost and no amount of just restricting the gate will give it to him.Fuel+Air=Power.

I would also make sure the wastegate is functional as I have seen many older 12v's with the gate frozen open and no matter if you put a plate in or not they do not build boost.

94cummins12v 01-28-2008 01:03 AM

no my wastegate is not frozen it works great for the past few days i have driven with my wastegate crimped and it has made it so instead of maxing at 17PS! i can get her up to 25 without breaking a sweat but that is not enough i am going to order a #5 fuel plate, 4000 GSK and 370 stage 2 injectors so i think i will make 35PSI

NMCUMMINS 01-28-2008 08:36 AM

Just make sure you install the boost elbow when you get that other stuff, with that much fuel you will likely overspeed the turbo!!! Stock turbos don't like morre than 35psi

Also you do have a pyrometer correct? that much fuel will likely push EGTs through the roof with the stock turbo!!!

HAVE FUN....Josh

ya i got a pyro, boost, trans on the pillar fuel guage in the dash, oil temp and diff temp in the overhead so i like to listen to my truck when she is talking to me

Boost line

Make sure the boost line that goes to the back of the AFC isn't crimped, I had the same issue with my S300, and I found that my boost line was crimped and not supplying the neccessary psi to my AFC to move my AFC arm all the way forward.

94cummins12v 01-29-2008 01:28 PM

well i have a line comming from the intake manifold that also gos into the AFC so im not worried about that
