there are many many different makeres of both parts. a good towing VB or street VB is good for most anything a street driven truck will ever see and produce silid shifts not harsh. a single tripple or the ATS 5 star are fine converters its really preference. you cant go wrong with georand stuff or sun coast. and upgrade those 2 parts in the tranny TOGETHER and AS SOON AS YOU CAN AFFORD IT!!!!!

94-95 = 47RH is an all manual tranny with electric overdrive
96-02 = 47RE all electric shift or atleast most

i've seen georand come up in a lot of reading and always good things. how do you know decide between converters tho? like for me it would be drivin around everywhere then lined up occasionally with a buddy and even hooked up to a sled a few times a summer at local pulls. thanks for all the explanation!

a good single disk will be fine then. kinda think of the disk count as clutch count (which it is) so mild engine do good with a quality single and drag truck do better with a big tripple kinda for the most part. just call and talk to some of theses guys ATS georand ect and tell them what you want and they will tell you what you need
