AFC Modifying Precision Questions??
I currently swapped in flat thin washers replacing the cupped ones, and trimmed down the AFC foot and swapped in the medium spring from the "AFC Spring kit". From my observations, I was able to trim the foot down more than 1/8 of an inch like most threads state, at full travel the foot just barely taps the end of the housing. It's set now at full travel at 35 PSI but around 17 PSI the foot still moves more than half way, more than I'd like. I can turn the star wheel out more and it will give me half foot travel at 17 PSI, but at 35, the foot is maybe about 2 mm from the housing wall...
This truck is my DD, I want the power where I can get it, but I enjoy the fuel mileage too. I don't want to be putting in too much fuel at low boost. Does anybody have any incite on what I am asking? Thanks! |
Nobody knows what I'am referring too or what is right to wrong of what I'm trying to achieve?:scare2:

You may be able to get the results you're looking for with an AFC Spring Kit. The one I got came with 2 different springs that are different tensions.

I modded my AFC the same as you except I used the stock spring. 16-17psi puts the foot halfway forward, and at 35psi it's maxed out. What psi do you have to use for half travel when it's set for full travel at 35?
