Re: BIG PROBLEMS overheat

Is the bypass hose hooked up? Any exhaust gases in coolant? How did you eliminate the air from the system?

BIG PROBLEMS overheat

got a new head installed new water pump new thermostat got the radiator flushed and new temp sensor...and i drove it today after all together didnt even make it five miles without it gettin to almost 220 :( help me i have so much money involved and no clue what it could be now

i dont think i really know how to bleed the system i just opened the cap for a little bit and i wasnt 100% on which way and what o rings to use when installing the thermostat i was confused for a little bit on that
like the direction and weep holes in it im just tired of tearing this thing down

Seems silly, but I had to jack the front end of my truck up with the cap off and let it run fer a few, it worked for me. I did have my weap hole on top too though. Hope that helped

I know when ur getting the air outta ur coolant system ur radiator cap needs to be the highest point. Because hair travels up in a enclosed area. So if need like Billy d said if u need to jack up the passenger front tire up high let run to open the thermostat and keep an eye on fluid and fill as need. Also for me sometimes helps to pump (squeeze) upper radiator hose. And just pour coolant to her. Hope that helps. Anyone feel free to chime in with more tips or tricks. Lol :jump:

I think they redesigned they thermostat so that it doesn't swing like it used to. I would say that as long as it's not getting above where it's at, you should be fine.
