So a randomly moving temp guage is normal? Mine never overheats, but the needle seems to move around a lot on the lower half of the guage... I was gonna replace the t-stat, but it hasn't le me down yet?

Yeah, that's pretty common.

mine used to move around alot but now it just blows right past 190 this truck is really pissin me off now so i took the tstat out and it works good in cold weather :)

mine use to move around alot to till i had to put a new head gasket and broke the old sensor. put a new one in it and ran some radiator and coolant system cleaner through it my pa brought home from work and now it is a steady needle and runs like 160 to 165.. unless romping on it alot.. id say make sure radiator aint plugged up or ur getting all the air bleed out!!
