That's the reference I used when I jacked up the drivers side axle seal when I did ball joints.
It is a major pain to do the passenger side seal but do it all when you break it down. The Dana 60 in the front of a Dodge is a special animal because of the disconnect on the passenger side so if you have worked on other Dana front axles as I have, be ready to re-learn a few things. Good luck, and post up if you get stuck, and if you learn any new tricks post them up also. |
If you have a cummins shop around i would see how much they would charge to do. Mine was a bear. I had to take a blow torch to it to break some of the bolts loose after breaking two braker bars. It was a lot harder than I was expecting.:s:

Get the good seals from Spicer! and get a couple of extras. I killed the first one I did on the passenger side.

I absolutely hate the passenger side axle seal...I think I destroyed about 3 of them before I finally got one seated. ended up giving up, and went out and bought a 6 ft long piece of allthread, and a huge socket-don't even remember what size it was, to fit the seal, to drive it in. And even then, it was a PITA. Plus, on one side, my hub was rusted to the outer spindle, so I had to take that in to get it pressed off...
