nv4500?

how long should it take to put a nv4500 4x4 back in a truck? and should it slide right back in easy?

bluedieselram 07-23-2011 05:54 PM

it aint that hard only takes couple of hours

blazier18 07-24-2011 12:03 AM

make sure clutch is in lign (spline align) take the bell housing off from transmission mount that first to the motor i always tq to 95lbs lol thats just me though. then slide your transmission in bolt crossmember up slide drive shaft in then check fluids then put ur shifter assembly together then bleed the clutch start the truck up and go

i will have feedback for yall today when the sun comes up lol

well got it in there but the cross member hates me :ouch:

cummins95 07-24-2011 08:32 PM

those cross members are a pain. i use a porta-power to spread the frame rails back apart n then it slides right back into place

blazier18 07-25-2011 01:13 AM

yeah cross members squeeze in there pretty tight. dodge made that way to try to be tough like a ford frame ha ha jk but most people dont have a porta power sittin around but a hammer works real nice :)

1993firstgennewbie 07-25-2011 11:17 AM

me and my bro can do it in about 2.5 hours the hardest part is getting the cross member back in ours needs a bfh beating ours is 2x4 tho im sure 4x4 is more difficult but not much

94Cumminz 07-25-2011 01:18 PM

will the cross member was easier than i thought we did it by hand for the most part. but now the oil drain tube is leaking oil because i broke the gasket and now im going to use rvt to fix it. is that a good idea????

blazier18 07-25-2011 11:41 PM

as long as it dont leak again i guess so? idk never had that problem

94Cumminz 07-26-2011 12:39 AM

im going to the stealership tomorrow and get a gasket.

blazier18 07-26-2011 01:43 PM

blazier18 07-27-2011 12:03 AM

that 2 days just give u time to go over everything again lol make sure u joint straps are tight check fluid level in tranny go ahead bleed your clutch rotate your tires change oil wash it real good check blinker fluid lol change window wipers fill the tank up and thats about enough time to get ur gasket just when u put it on be careful dont touch the truck gettin back out from under the truck u mite get it dirty again :101010: lol jk but good luck
