Check to see that when you depress the clutch pedal the slave cylinder moves the clutch fork. Can you shift it when the truck is not running?

is it a nv 4500, 5 speed manual? If so you may have a 5th gear nut that backed off.

yes its the nv 4500 and it wont come out of gear even with the in and motor and all that off it stuck in gear

It' wouldn't be the fifth gear nut if it wont come out of gear at all.. I'd do what mopar said and check all the linkage on the clutch first and then let us know

which gear, if its stuck in reverse and truck stops when the clutch pedal is pushed its the nut on 5 gear has come lose. good news is that its not to big of a job to fix.

ok i was talkin to a guy told him everything and he said more than likely its the forks in the shifter

save you self some money and check od nut first!

how do i check the nut out

pukie370 03-09-2011 11:29 AM

pull the drive shafts, transfer, and then unbolt the back trany case. you will see a round nut on the back of shaft. it is suposed to be very tight, like 300 fp. i would work main shaft back an forth and shift gears without truck runing to see any slop and then tighten. there are many forums on here about the 5th gear nut problem.
