X2! A little on these motors is a bunch and if you buy the snap on set your saving yourself a lot of headache and time. You can do the whole thing with the front cover on and doesnt take that long, plus you know exactly where your setting it.

Timing Adjustment

What the most you can advance the timing and get away with it though?

Well that depends on a great number of thing. Its not necessarily what you can get away with, its what your setup needs.

i was just wondering what advantages that advancing my timing will do thanks and sorry for hoping in your post but didnt want to open a new post when u have one already on here about it thanks

stock head bolts n gasket, dont go past 16.5*. thats where i have mine set. it still started this mornin at -12*F.
if u have head studs, i think u could prolly go as far as 20* for a street truck. a little more info on your injectors would help alot in determining where you should set it. u might wanna see what u can find out about them.
