Turbo question please help

Hey guys, me and my buddy are in an argument about this, my problem is that I'm running between 900 and 1000* of egts cruising down the road. I'm running a generic eBay hx40 on top of a ht3b with a 23 cm housing. That generic turbo is really slow spooling let alone pulling that big turbo to. So I want to get a 62/65/12 for the top turbo. It will spool instantly and run the motor more efficiently. Before I put on the junk hx40 I had a 35/40 hybrid. Ad it ran right around 700* down on the road. So that turbo has to be the culprit. That 40 twinned up is just to slow and it's requiring so much fuel to keep it going down the road. Yielding high egts. My buddy says that 62/65/12 is a waste of money and will not help my cruising egts. What do you guys think. Please put in any ideas I need to get this settles

You're buddy is smokin crack. I would go with a 68mm turbine wheel. Do you know any specs on that 40?

it is 60/65/16 the exhaust wheel might be a tad differet.
so you agree that a s30062/65/12 would be good and lower my cruising egts?
any other tips on lowering cruising egts, when i get into the throttle and the twins lite i dont see over 1400*. its just cruising down the road is so hot and bairly going up a grade unloaded hitting 1100 and that. im sick of it

That big exhaust housing is what's doing it. That s300 would work pretty well but a 68 turbine would work better.

Who makes a 62/68/12

Borg warner makes the parts. You'll have to probably specs the charger out I don't think thats an out of the box turbo. You deffinately need a bigger exhaust wheel though. You need to balance your chargers out. With the small exhaust wheel turbos you will be trying to suck air through the primary and then blow through the secondary.

id call engineered diesel. i think the new hot turbo is their titanium wheeled 63mm compressor with their 68mm turbine thats supposed to flow like a 71 but spool like a 65.

That's exactly what chris from engineered diesel said. The turbos are working against each other. I'm in touch with him and hopefully we can figure something out
