12V CTD had starting when parked on a hill. Fuel pump probem???
My 98 2500 CTD, which normally runs perfectly and starts very easily, even in the cold, has become hard to start if I park it on a hill, front end higher than the rear. It fires like normal but drops cylinders and will stall if I don't tap the throttle a bit for about 30 seconds. Then the idle evens out and it runs normally. No problem parked on a hill if it's running, only when stopped and only after a while.
Feels like a check valve is failing and the fuel line is emptying, like it's starting on what's in the pump but it's taking the lift pump a while to get more fuel to it. Anyone know what is causing this problem and how to fix it? Thanks...Boatman. |
could be bad rubber return line thats behind the injection pump, or could be alot of things with the lines from the tank and back, your probably losing your prime, i would start be replacing the rubber lines that around behind the injection pump, its a bit of work to find these problems sometimes

:hellox: Check the fuel lines. Replace if cracked. :c:
