voltage regulator

is the voltage regulator in the alternator or in the computer?

Dr. Evil 07-10-2010 11:47 PM

Its in the PCM but you can wire in an external voltage regulator.

What kind of problems are you having?

Dr. Evil 07-13-2010 07:54 PM

We need voltage numbers from the battery terminals.

cumminsCrazy 07-13-2010 08:52 PM

okay i tested the alternator and its putting out 14.61 volts could bad batterys cause this condition?

cumminsCrazy 07-15-2010 05:46 PM

okay so idle i am getting 14.1 volts and 2500rpm im getting 16.30 and bench tested alternator it is good on the tester

Dr. Evil 07-15-2010 06:47 PM

The alternator and voltage regulator should be good then.

Weird. Check all your body/frame grounds. Clean all the mounting points. I think there are 7 or 8.
