sorry for the hijack but I'm goning the other way with this till my dually rear gets rebuilt can I use my dually rims on the 2500 axle?I got my hands on one cheap so I figure I can throw the 2500 axle under the truck till I get a chance and money to rebuild the 2500.

ya the 3500 rims will go on the 2500 they will just stick out a few inches more, as for what axle is on what 2500 autos came with 70, 2500 manuals come with an 80, and all 3500 have the 80

sawmillman is your truck 4x4?, if so make sure the gearing in the front axle is the same as the one you are putting on the rear end or just dont use 4x4 if they are diff. the dana 60, 70, and 80s have diff gears, i have seen 60s and 80s with 4.10 and i alsos had an 80 with 3.54s and a 70
