With a high compression motor like that thicker oil (its thick already) or bandaid in a can it wont work. Itll push past the rings no matter what...

ill sell ya a truck!!!:tu:

Dan, stfu. I'm not buying a damn gay utility box brother.
To everybody else, all I need right now is a bandaid until I can afford the rebuild kit. Would lucas or restore at least bandaid the issue for now? |
no offence and dont take this the wrong way, but you need to stop "band-aiding" problems such as that temporarily. do it once and do it right, if ya dont wanna spend the cash to fix the problems and do what you gotta do the right way, then id stop now and sell the truck. rigging stuff and temp. fixes are not gunna do you anything in the long run. just my .02 cents

I'm not rigging anything though; thats why its in the shop getting a new front cover, fixed timing, a new damper, new turbo etc. I'm trying to completely redo this truck and make it a hoss (though I'm putting a lot more cash into bs that I shouldn't have to..), I still dont have coin to drop on a rebuilt motor. So in the meantime, I'd like to bandaid it. Blowby isn't a huge deal, but if I can cut it back some and maybe breath a tick of life more into that truck for a few bucks in the meantime, then by all means i'm going to do it. But trust me I intend to make this into a new truck in the next 1-2 years.

Just run it and keep an eye on the oil

You can recommend me buying a ferrari all you want. Fact is I dont have the cash for something like that right now. Thats why I want to temporarily fix it until I do.
Thanks red rattler, but I'm trying to quell the smoking a bit. Thinking lucas or restore would help keep the smoke down? |
Lucas will help a little bit but in the long run it will end up costing you more money than it is worth. As for Restore it will slow some of the blowby but in my experience it will only once again slow down some of the blowby. Ultimately a rebuild will be your better bet but seeing how money is tight i would go with the Restore in combination with the Lucas for your best bet and most functional " Bandaid ". Hope it helps.
