Transmission work for 300-400hp

I m just wondering, but do you think i need to do to have my auto transmission handle 300-400hp properly in my 98' dodge? What type of stuff should i do to it? How much do you think it'll cost? Or what stuff have you guys done to your transmissions?

a valve body and a billit torque converter depends where you go i got a suncoast vb and a dacco billit tc from tony at mighty diesel for a lil over 900 400 some thing for vb and lil over 500 for tc

As long as everything seems to be in good working condition, then a tourque convertor and a valve body will take you a long way, if the tranny is already on its way out, then rebuild it and do those 2 mods.

vb converter and if your going to do competition or gank on it at all try to get a billet input too if you get a big triple disk converter..... i floored mine and snapped it

bowtech 02-26-2010 04:51 PM

what a stock input rated for if your not going to pull?

wouldnt go over 350-400hp...personal opinion.

If all the clutches and everything internal is good, torque converter and valvebody should be just fine as long as you dont run the piss out of it all the time.
