well 1200 is like what my truck will push at the hottest now so i guess i should turn my starwheel down and slide the plate back a bit cuz im 16 and i use every bit of those 359 cubic inches:cp:

that '95 has 131 or 168 DV's in it, which on a 160 pump isn't a very good combo. Spend the couple c-notes at least for some 191's. Next I would put an egg under the pedal until you have collected the dough for a new huffer after you spin the guts out of your current second one, and a new HG after your drive pressure stretches them head bolts and lets you take a lash measurement between the gasket and block. I'm kidding but not really. Your entering territory that will lead you down the road of hard knocks. Be careful with those sticks. A 100 plate FF on a stock HX, AND HG/bolts will surely let money escape from your wallet sooner than later.

Don't you mean 131's or 167's? And the delivery valves are not the issue on the early models using 370's, it is the different piston design.

so can i use these successfully or no?

yeah, its just gonna be a lot of fuel. put 'em in and start saving for a 62/71 or something.

Take it from me fella, Marine 370's and a stock/small charger is a nightmare. VERY VERY hot injectors. like said above. you better get a charger to clean them up or prepare to dump alot of money. just my opinion. Its NOT fun to keep your eyes planted on the pyro guage everytime you want to move is NO fun. :c:

Yeah, you're right, I haven't even looked at an old set of my take-outs for 6 or 7 years, but they are 167's.

I'll leave, for the sake of argument, the rest alone. Suffice it to say, a 160 pump is quite adequate to fuel big sticks. But from a novice standpoint, it's not as simple as jerking the plate out of it and gutting the AFC. If that's your intention as stated, no problem. But he should know he's not doomed by his 160, and lacking the rest, bigger DV's will help make it run better than without. When he gets better, he can get that 160 to write checks his bank account will feel pain over.
