throttle valve cable
how do you adjust it?
|
what are you trying to adjust??
|
Wat does it do? i was told about it when we were talkin about makin my auto shift better
|
Couldn't find any pics, but it's a square block with a round button on the side, near the throttle linkage. You push the button, and slide the cable. Don't go very far, just a click or two at a time.

any one have pics? wat does it do? witch way do you go to do what?

I'm kinda interested to know about this as well ? What does it do and how does it affect the auto shifting ?:pca1:

Basically it's the kickdown or passing gear cable. It allows the trans to shift at the right time. All I can tell you is adjust it a little and try it. Then you'll know if you have to go more, or back the other way.

I need to do this then , my passing gear wont kick in half the time . :booo:

i talked to Dave Goerend of Goerend Transmission Incorporated 3 years ago when i bought my tranny from him. he said when the throttle is at WOT (Wide Open Throttle), AKA pedal to the metal, full tilt boogie, full throttle, etc, the cable should be pulled taught. there is a lever it is connected to on the tranny where the shift linkage is at. with the motor off, the accelerator pedal to the floor (make sure no floor mats are in the way) get under the truck and make sure this lever is tight and can not be moved. have the person inside the cab slowly depress the pedal so you can actually see the cable and lever move.
hope this helps. |
