some questions for you

OK first things first, people have been telling me to block off my EGR valve... what will this do and how do you do it???

secondly, wen i take off my intake manifold and look down at that square hole that has the metal grids inside of it.... Im not sure if you all know what im talking about, but someone told me you can use a plasma cam or other metal tool and you can cut all that shit out of there so it has less restriction, and he thinks i'll gain 5hp... any thoughts on this???:humm:

well the EGR all has to do if the truck was originally sold in California, and the second is your grid heaters, if you delete them yes you will have less restriction...but if it gets below 45* then your truck will start harder because they are grid heaters and heat your intake air so to make it light easier and i doubt you will gain 5 hp from deleting them

why would you risk cold starts for a 5hp

djwhonda92 05-01-2009 12:28 AM

oh then i dont think the temp aspect will be too much of a problem cuz where i live the coldest it gets is like 30degrees on a cold clear winter night. but if i wont gain anything i will not take the effort to do that ha

stkdram55 05-01-2009 12:30 AM

mostly only the big HP drag racers and people like that delete them, i wouldnt want to take the time to do it i know that:booo:

djwhonda92 05-01-2009 12:31 AM

ya i probably wont. not for 5hp.. 94cummins12v is right, 5hp isnt worth cold starts being a pain in the ass

i took mine out last year but i noticed apsolutly nothing, then after my truck starting throwing a fit at 20* i put it back in

djwhonda92 05-01-2009 12:35 AM

ok ya take the manifold of pull it out, throw a spacer in. unless you have the grid heater that is molded into the intake plate, were our 94's dont have them and the 97 head i have on now dont have them either

djwhonda92 05-01-2009 12:38 AM
