:so which one for just some more hp everyday driving? i mean #100 or #4.

#0, then tune the afc. My personal opinion, but you can tune your afc to bring on the fuel whenever you want. I've done it on my personal truck with both ends of the spectrum. It either smokes a lot on the low-end, or doesn't and is very street/smoke friendly.

how exactly do you adjust the governer arm to contact the plate?
|
A small screw on the back of the pump. There's a cover with two screws (I think they're safety wired, flat heads). There's two screws. You want the (looking from the back of the pump) lower screw. The other deals with the rack; leave it be. There's a jamb nut on the screw itself that you'll have to loosen. My fuel filter housing was right in the way, so I had to use a flathead apex bit in a box-end wrench to adjust it. Pretty easy adjustment, just a pain in the ass location. Just make sure to have your shutoff solenoid in the up or "run" position. Turn the screw in or out a little bit, move the throttle lever forward and check for contact. Once everything is how you want it, tighten the nut and button everything up. I've heard from some folks that you can remove the screw completely on a #0 plate, since the arm doesn't ride the full face of the plate.

im grinding my own 0 plate, you guys think ill be fine were the governor arm is stock by not slipping under or would it be better to adjust the arm
|
Maybe if you pull it back some. The arm travels on an arc, so if you remove material from the face of the plate (the profile), the arm's arc doesn't have anything to hit, and goes under the plate.
Just set the plate where you want it, adjust the arm and be done with it. Shouldn't be more than an hour to grind, adjust and put everything back together. |
it should be fine. i had that set up before i took my plate out. i had the gov. arm in the stock place and then i had it all the way forward and i had no trouble at all with it. so i think it will be alright
