tune up
about how much does it cost for a tune up? i cant get a straight up ballpark answer lol
for my 96 dodge. |
How long have you owned this truck? any idea of what kind of maintenance its had?
What kind of "tune up" are you looking to do? Why not learn some about your truck and do it yourself? BTW, DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE KILLER DOWEL PIN (KDP)??? |
most of it is very easy! It really depends on what you consider a "tune Up " and what the truck need's for us to price it!

I pay $13 for a Stratapore oil filter and around $20 for a fuel filter. |

Heck, Even at the dealership, an oil filter cost me $11.00??
Almost the same price on everything that Dr. E Quoted. I also wouldnt run rotella unless i couldnt find anything else! Valv. Blue only for all of our customers trucks! I would check for algae in the fuel, and would run a good fuel treatment and thats basicly a good tune up unless its an auto truck! |
adjust yer valve lash and consider some timing.......................it will be a new truck:U:

wouldnt buy em any where else. As for the Rotella, I will have to agree with Lucas - Rotella is about the last oil I would use. Its ok, but there are better choices, IMHO. |
tune up, or bombing?:c:
|
i use baldwin filters on my truck w/ no problems ever,a bhaf, fuel, and tranny filters cost total of about 70 bucks for all,(less if i use the company discount on a cash ticket) do your home work and find out who makes and packages the dodge filters and you will never buy them again,(cheapest bidder of the day, whoever it may be, flavor of the moment, ect, ect,)if you want to spend more money, go to cummins, or heck buy cat filters or donaldson (only cost a small mint), and hey whats wrong w/ rotella??? 295K and no problems on my 96, just curious thats all, :pals:
|
i work at a serivce station and get good deals on filters and oil but i pay as much for cheap filters as you guys pay for cummins or dodge filters

all my parts are "donations" I know the parts manager at my dealer he showed me what the prices were and then give me the parts. And for oil I will never run anything else in my diesel trucks but rotella. Its my preference so leave it be!:madd:

ROTELLA :U:
|
There are people who run Rotella and never have a problem,I must be one.
Everyone has a preference, it's up to the end user. All I can say about filters is NO FRAM! (I have run Fleetguard from day one and will run nothing else, just a quirk of mine) Like stated oil change, fuel filter, air filter, run the rack, some timing and you will be up and running in no time.:U: |
i just found baldwin fuel filters for 17.99 i couldnt help but buy 10 of them
rotella sucks buy delo or amsoil:ph: |
