12 Valve will not start

My killer dowel pin fell out and I had to get a new timing case and when I did this I messed up the injection pump timing. I should be able to just take off the injection pump gear and twist it a little right? Or is it more complicated than that?

WAYYYY more complicated my friend ....

Your gonna need to pin the Injection Pump , Then set enging to TDC with the crank pin ( right under the IP) .. then tighten the IP gear back down to torque spec ( make sure you use brake cleaner on the IP shaft and the inside od the gear other wise your likley to have the timing slip ) ..

OR

Take it to a shop and make sure it gets done right the first time .. :tu:

I have set the the engine to TDC. How would I know when the injection pump is in the right spot? Or does the pin for the injection pump only go in when it is set on the 1st cylinder and in correct timing?
:humm:

yes the pin for the IP only goes in on the #1 Cyl .. setting it this way ensures factory timing ..

When you are almost gear to shaft .. make sure to tighten the bolt with an agressive snap just before the bolt is tight .. then Ping the gear lightly with a small punch and a light hammer .. ( only do this with a small amount of force ) .. dont pyle drive it ..

then Torque the bolt to spec on the IP gear bolt .. :tu:
