Hm. Now that I see it, I don't remember ever seeing it before.

Oh! And. Mine is in my sig, I like it. Good useful turbo, it's no dyno queen and it won't win any races. But it feels good right off the line without boosting the launch, makes good smooth power right to the top, great highway passing, tows well, and it will make an awesome top turbo when I throw a second hairdryer in the mix.

4x4manonbroke 07-05-2014 01:11 AM

I have herd manny options and oppinions ... just looking for what everyone else is doing ..

Is you Ip a 180 ? :humm:

JBearSVT 07-05-2014 06:49 AM

Yes. So, we have the same cam and DVs. Yours has a better gov springs, but everyone changes those. Yours has a preferable helix, but it also has the retard notches so at our power levels it's a wash. Not sure what your ultimate plans are (power/function-wise)?

94 12valve 07-05-2014 08:49 AM

what injector are you running? when compounds are done what is your end goal for the truck power wise and use wise

JBearSVT 07-05-2014 11:18 AM

I don't think he's planning compounds.

turbo2332 07-05-2014 03:41 PM

ive ran a stocker
57/65/14
62/65/13SS
62/65/14
62/71/13SS
on my 95. ive ran all 5 turbos with 5x12 injectors and currently run 5x14's with the biggest charger. my favorite all around, i drive my truck as a truck turbo was the 62/65/14 it was very responsive it dynoed in the mid 400's and it was very pleasurable to drive. the 57mm charger i wouldnt recommend. ide prefer a stocker. the 71mm turbine i now run is noticably more laggy than the 65 but make much more power higher in the rpms. it was probably a 75ish hp increase over the 65mm wheel WITH the 5x14's. the 5x12's worked well but didnt hit near as hard as the 14's do. truck still cleans up all the smoke under load and is under 1200* WOT. the 65mm wheel will run a little hotter at WOT and start to choke in the high 2000rpm range.

also if you care the non extended tip 7 blade H2TB compressor wheel is WAY louder than the billet 6 blade i currently run. if you like noise.

for a size comparison my avitar picture is of the 13cm s300 turbine housing beside a 12cm wh1c housing.

Said in his first post compounding would come later, the set I will be using for my build will be a he351 over a 75mm for a great set of towing twins

JBearSVT 07-05-2014 05:58 PM

Oh yeah. Hm. How'd I miss that.

4x4manonbroke 07-05-2014 07:16 PM

I have been looking @ the 62/65/14's ... thinking that might be a good option, and a decent primary for compounding later as well ... :c:

thanks for the input, keeps my wheels turning :tu:

94 12valve 07-06-2014 11:10 AM

for a small twin set that can handle 650 hp the he351 is IMO the best choice for a secondary ... cant beat the price either

4x4manonbroke 07-06-2014 11:58 AM

any good leads on where to get one ? :humm:

4x4manonbroke 07-06-2014 11:59 AM

I need a single to start with .. sould I run the he351 and still do DD Dutys ?

94 12valve 07-06-2014 01:41 PM

they came on 04.5-07 CR dodges there is normally one in the for sale section if you have the time to wait or ebay. The 351 will be a good upgrade for a single over the hx35 as well, you will need to redo your discharge piping and exhaust downpipe its not a direct swap.

specs on the turbo are 60mm comp 60mm turbine with a .9cm WG non divided housing

Do you think this would be an option ?

I found manny others as well ... :humm:

turbo2332 07-06-2014 06:31 PM

nope. you dont have a computer to run the vein assembly. you are looking for a he351cw charger. i personally like this turbo for mild stuff but it isnt a big difference stock for stock over an hx35.

4x4manonbroke 07-06-2014 08:06 PM

I do have a friend I believe this is what he is running, using drive pressure to actuate the veins... using the turbo housing to warm up the coolant into the heater core ... he says it runs good ...

I was just curious ... what the "preformance" would be .. :humm:

94 12valve 07-06-2014 08:27 PM

you can make that charger work without a computer its been done a few times. The 351cw is easier to work with in a twin set up.

is another one with a WG..

which would be a good idea ? or can you post one thats a good replacement for the hx35w that I can Compound ...:tu:

94 12valve 07-06-2014 08:57 PM

your best bet is to look for a used one not a new non holset replacement

4x4manonbroke 07-06-2014 10:03 PM

ok.... any leads that u can help with ?

JBearSVT 07-07-2014 07:40 PM

I see 'em on Craigslist sometimes. They're usually about $300, and they don't last long. The 351 that is.

4x4manonbroke 07-07-2014 08:16 PM

OK ... I will keep y eye open ...

wpg6.5 07-19-2014 05:24 PM

I have a he351 I may be willing to part with in the future

4x4manonbroke 07-19-2014 08:51 PM

k.... PM me and let me know whe your ready ... :pca1:

wpg6.5 07-19-2014 09:36 PM

Also have a 3rd gen manifold already ported for a 12 valve aswell.

4x4manonbroke 07-19-2014 09:50 PM

How does it fit in truck ? isnt the 3rd gen lower and further back ? :humm:

94 12valve 07-20-2014 09:28 AM

yes it is, if you plan on doing a twin set up keep your 2nd gen manifold.

wpg6.5 07-20-2014 11:33 AM

Ya it mounts straight down and under cyl 4/5. Fits great in my Chevy. Not sure about in a dodge. I think you would need an adapter to mount it to a regular t3 but I could be wrong.

Not sure what that contributes to the topic, but it did bring my attention to the downfall of saying something is in your signature for conversational purposes. My sig has changed and would only be confusing now. At the time I was running a 60/68/14 dual-port/waste-gated Schweizer. I had it for hundreds of thousands of miles without issue, it was a damn fine little piece.
