New guy trans help
Hey guys, new to DB looking for a little trans help. I recently picked up a 1999 Ram 1500 QCSB with a 96 12v motor and auto trans in it. I need to get a TV cable for it but im not sure what I should be ordering it for. Im assuming it goes by length so I would need to get one for a QCSB? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks gents!
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- and where would a guy find a new cable, online or dealer if anyone has an idea. |
this is in a 1500 conversion? what year are the engine and trans? 47rh or re and you will get the cable that is designed for the trans.
|
yeah it was a 1500 gasser, has Dana 60 front 70 back, with the 96 cummins and 47re trans
|
get the TV cable for the 96 cummins to 96 47RE. is all the bracketry and TPS stuff on the engine still?
|
after looking at it better and getting up in there, everything is there but the plastic clip the holds the cable into the trans bracket is borken on one side and is letting the plastic clip start to pull through, thus um-adjusting the cable. Going to try and glue it and see how trans shifts before I spend money on a cable....maybe jus do a 5 speed right away if it seems bad

cable is cheaper and the auto will hold up if its been built right .. more fun towing and faster in 1/4 if your into that kinda playin around.. :choochoo:
|
well if the trans is good i'll keep it in till she goes but ya gotta love grabbin gears in a cummins!
|
It gets old pretty fast.

Especially if your in town .... Left leg gets tired ... Unless u know how to float gears ... Then its the right arm ... . My F250is a 4 spd.... It gets old .. Too lazy to do a auto swap
The 47rh/re will hold just as much power and its faster through the gears .... Set it and forget it ...lol |
