Boost Not Blowing Off
I was coming up a hill yesterday and mashed on it and got the PSI up to 28 and it wont blow off unless i let off!Any input would be great!:tu:

if your looking for less boost you will need to moddify your wastegate ... but 28 psi is not an excessive number
|
With my stock wastegate I was hitting 18-20 psi!:td:
I purchased a bighead wastegate did the adjustment to make it blow off around 30,but would only go up to 23psi! Pinched it off to see the max and it hit 32psi! Then I bought an adjustable elbow have it about a quarter way out and it wont blow off or shift unless i let off? I want around 32-35psi,but also want it to blow off and shift without having to let off! |
I don't understand your terminology of "blow off".
A "blow off" valve is not factory equipment on that truck so there will be no "blowing off". if you want more than 32psi, put a turnbuckle on the wastegate to disable it's function. but this will put stress on a stock turbo and ultimately lead to a premature death of the bearings and shaft. |
why do you want to fall under the turbo every shift?
|
It won't shift in to the next gear after it builds up boost,What i meant as in blow off, release the psi sorry!:ouch:

if the trans isn't shifting at WOT, it is a TPS or a transmission issue, not a turbo or wastegate issue. |
TPS?:scare2:

TPS is not really as bad as it sounds. But, if its the trans, thats another issue all together.:pca1:

One day it would shift normal!Pinched off the wastegate then it wouldn't shift?
Sound like a TPS? |
