Which turbo would be my best choice???
 
I have a 96 12v, 60lb valve springs, 4gsk springs, 0 plate, boost elbo, EGT gauge and boost gauge. stage 2 clutch. timing at 16.8. with the new boost elbo and fuel mods i get 38psi for boost. even at full boost i still have come smoke. Wanting to get a turbo to help push about 45 psi. keeping stock head gasket and studs for now. dont want to spend a fortune either.

If it was up to me id get a aurora 3000 but they are not in my budget. any other turbos out there that are more affordable but still reliable and push the boost i need? anything is helpful!

i will have a 62/65/14 for sale in the next week or so. i made 427hp and 960tq with it on 5x12's. i just had it off the truck cleaned up and rebalanced it.
is now gated in the 42psi range but i ran it on the dyno @48

turbo2332 i have a 62/65/13 on my 95 and im trying to decide on injectors, with the 5x12's what egt's were u running? do u think it would be too hot for a 20,000 pound goosneck? :humm:

no. IF you use your smart head when you drive. it is absolutely possible to melt the old girl down but i pull a pretty heavy 24ft enclosed and never see over 900 pulling. 5x12's and a 62/65 work very well together. they have their limits like everything else. lots/most people choose to over fuel like crazy. stock injectors can get you a long way before an upgrade is needed. look in to some 7x10's they are nearly the same size as 5x12's but arguably may give you a little better bottom end grunt. also 155* angles will most likely net you a few more ponies but run dirtier than the factory spray pattern of 145* i believe all 7 hole injectors are 148*.

you will not be able to touch a new gated turbo for that price. anywhere.

As stated by turbo332 the stockers will get you a long way , the 7x.010's are more equivalent to a 5x.013, so 5x.012's are what is considered 90hp, stay away from 370's IMO , the spray angle is at 155* and they are dirty and hot, if you tow I would get a proper set of 5x.012's with a 145* , they are much cleaner and cooler, if you decide to go the 7x.010 route it's not a bad choice , if you get the thinner copper washers it will knock it down from the 148* to be pretty dead on 145* , as far as turbo as stated above I'd be looking at the 62/65/12 or 14, save the extra coin and get the right turbo the first go around, there is no sense in spending money twice, also look into the new turbo from AFE, I've heard good things about it but also don't know much about it, it's a 58mm inducer which is the same as the aurora 3000, idk how the exducer compares though, they can be had for 1,100 bucks, just my .02

the cross section area is smaller on a set of 7x10's compared to 5x12's

not getting injectors right now. just gonna run a 0 plate slide forward with stock nozzles for now. what size is the aurora 3000? is it a 64/65/14? I'm not real familliar with turbo sizes an injectors yet. i dont want something huge that will lag. my buddy has the 400 with 75hp nozzles and it lags. I was looking into a 3000 where it picks up quicker, any ideas?
