I will have to get another air horn with out the egr hook up I've already made the plate for the exhuast port and will remove all the vacuum lines and electrical. and let you know if the check engine light comes on. but I need to find a new air horn.

I have the same engine
I just bought a 98 12v and the EGR had been removed and the check engine light is on and I also have not been able to find out how to get the CEL to go out. I was told by a friend that works in a Dodge dealer to remove the light bulb from the dash. I told him that was well and good but what other conditions will I not know about? I am still looking for the answer also. I don't know if this is an answer but I heard something about flashing the CPU? It looks like their is more than one of us out there.
