trans go jr

i just ordered a shift kit up for my 2006 LBZ with the allison any one know how hard it is to install and about how long it would take?

There is actually a write up on here somewhere :humm:

it takes about 2 hours, the hard part is you have to stay clean and try not to lose the little pin that keeps the linkage together when you remove the pan

is there a difference between the trans go kit and the jr. kit??

BLACKDX 08-05-2010 01:40 PM

There is a kit for the 5 speed I think they call that the Trans Go, the trans has to come out for that one. The Jr is for the six speed which is just the valvebody remova.

ok was just checking. Would it also be safe to go with the Trans Go Jr. kit with horsepower at around 650 at the tires??

650 RWHP..:scare2: Yup Id get a suncoast IV for sure on that HP. There is a few other options too that are top shelf like Ingelwood in Cali. I limped a 5 speed LLY with BD set at 70hp one time with 2 sleds on the back. The 4-5 shift was the killa. The 6 speed no prob but anything past 4th at WFO with 100hp over:w2: watch it..

Ok just wanted to check it out. :tu: So i was also told that the stock 6-speed can handle 150hp over stock. Will i be alright then running the Trans Go Jr.?? Will it be a waste of money?? I will eventually get the whole tranny done, just need something to help it out for now.

BLACKDX 08-13-2010 05:58 PM

It wont be a waste of money, With the Suncoast IV it comes with the kit so just one less thing to install then. So your alking bout 450 RWHP,I think stock is bout 300 or so. I ran my with the Trans Jr with level 4 on the PPE, which is supposed to be 225 Eng HP. I never did limp it but did watch the 5-6 WFO shifts. When we installed the SC IV there was signs of the wear..

well thats good to know.:tu: is that kit pretty hard to install or what?? I think thats going to be my next upgrade.
