There is a different mount for gauges besides the a-pillar. I will see if I can find the writeup on it.. you can mount them in the overhead console above the rear view mirror.

Hey that helps out alot. I wasn't so sure about a cold air intake, and i had no idea what kind of gauges to get. I have actually seen the overhead gauges that either sit on top of the dash or the ones that go right over the rearview mirror. but i personally like the pillar look. and is there any other kind of gauge i might need? or should i just go with the 2 slot pillar? and i think i've decided on the 60psi gauge. I'm still not decided on whether i wanna go with a single exhaust or dual. Because my silverado 1500 is dualed out and i love the roar. But i'm not sure yet...:argh:

Anyways. i appreciate your help. You, NOPROBLEM, and 2500HeavyDuty have helped out alot plus ya'll both have some clean lookin rigs. Love the back window on your truck. It looks awesome:U:

IMO the price that you are going to pay for the the goodies you are looking at it is going to take a long time to recover the cost. If you are doing these just for economy save the money as none of those make a HUGE difference.

Yeah not all the upgrades I want are for economy. I wanna get alot of power out of it and I want it to look good too. Idk if you commented or saw one of my other threads but I am going to be racing my friends 06 Mustang GT. And I got a buddy who is doin work on his 90somethin FORD. I got a couple people that wanna race with me and I'm about ready to eat up all these annoying ricers in my town :bat:

As 2500 said the CAI is only for looks and a louder turbo which the LLY is very quiet.

And yeah I have never been big on CAI's. They just don't seem to do all that much for how much they cost...

Oh and random but I figure if I ever have some spare cash layin around I'd get a train horn :choochoo: You know any good ones that aren't too pricey?? Thanks yall :U:

Both of yall get me and KC confused :D

Anyhoo, depending on what year model truck your looking at, there should be a write up on how to mod the stock intake box.

Boost and pyro is all you need, Fuel pressure gauge wouldn't work on a stock duramax since they don't come with a lift pump. The over head dual gauge set up is nice, and it come with two switches that can be used for maybe the trains horns your looking on buying. one thing though, having a pillar full of gauges get you less and more races at the same time.

LLY has a jet like sound to it straight piped.

OH YEAH! And someone said that I should get an LBZ mouthpiece. Where do I find that?:humm:

hmmm. yeah that's true... but the only people I plan on racing right now or anytime soon are my friends. I went from just the one guy in the 'Stang to him, a guy in a 90 somethin F-250, an '03 F-150, and maybe my buddy's chevelle ss (:humm:not sure if he was serious cuz it's in immaculate show condition.)

dealer or some small business websites.

there's a vendor on here that sells train horns he can set you up with whatever you want.

the mouthpiece is good, but exhaust and intake, programmer help out alot more. but you can take the thing off and see the wicked 90 bend.

look at the inlet compared to the lb7 inlet

the fit to the from the lly intke tube to the lbz inlet might be a little weird

Big_Johnson 10-07-2008 12:15 AM

yeah i'm not sure why whoever told me to get the mouthpiece told me told me to get it... but it's whatever. if it's too hard to find then i'm not gonna worry about it. ummm. what do deletes do? i mean i know they like get rid of stuff. but i dont know what alot of the deletes do/ or the point of them.

2500HeavyDuty 10-07-2008 12:23 AM

Haha BOOO! I'm tired of researching :argh: lol
This is why I joined this forum to get easy answers. jk jk
But yeah I will probably wait a little while to start lookin at other stuff.
I have pretty much decided to buy those tie rod sleeves, PPE programmer, and gauges for now. It will take me about 2 months to get all the money together anyways.:w2:

I actually got an email from lukesdiesel and he said he would get me a quote on the programmer sleeves and guages. but i'm still looking for myself.

2500HeavyDuty 10-07-2008 12:38 AM
