*** 4x4 Launching. ***

K, I want to know what i will need to launch in 4 wheel drive and keep it in 4x4 all the way down the 1/4 mile... I have launched in 4x4 but im afraid that something is going to snap because of how it acts...

say im launching in the far right lane, my truck will yank itself into the left lane than the front feels like its going left to right but i keeps going straight, thats after it yanks about 8-12 feet left. Than when i let off it feels like i have mud boggers on, it feels like a chadder or a jumpy feel.

Is that normal or just me? I have Fabtech tie rods right now. Besides tie rodes what will most likly break?

Thanks ahead of time,

Nemo

how are they angled, the cv shafts and tir rods, are they parallel with the ground?

wht kind of lift is it, differential drop or knuckle lift

Nemo,
As 2500HeavyDuty is saying, if your front axles are not close to parrallel they will be in a binded up position causing all kinds of pulls and problems. You might need stronger tierods or some sort of idler/pitman arm bracing to help with looseness. With your 8" lift, I'm sure all angles are probably out of wack for high speed 4wd driving.

Much less, with the little power adders you have, do you even need to 4wd launch?? Are you spinning hard off the line in 2wd? I'm sure your heavier wheels and tire are puting the strain on everything.

Its a 8" Fabtech...
Im pretty sure its a knuckle lift but i could be mistaken.

I will take pictures of the tire rods etc in a min and post them up so you can look at them.

You might try launching in 4wd if you HAVE to, and then about 3rd gear, click it back into 2wd.. I know ALOT of the dmax racers do that. Might even be able to program EFI Live to disengage 4wd in 3rd gear...:humm:
