Default 06 TDI AC compressor sensor

My buddy hit a raccoon with his 06 Jetta and it broke the sensor off of the AC compressor and it is beyond repair. He has tried to find just the sensor/switch but has had no luck. It is looking like he needs to buy another compressor, and those are not cheap. I was wondering if anyone has a failed one if we can buy the sensor/switch off of you or if anyone can point to a direction to get just the switch/sensor. Thanks.

Sorry for getting back to you late, I work nights. The VIN is: 3VWST71K86M670357

I believe the compressor is a SanCo.

I looked at the description of the compressor and I'm not seeing any sensors on the compressor. There are a couple sensors in the hoses. If you have a fax # I can send you the catalog printouts from vw and let you guys take a look @ them.

I won't be near a fax machine too soon. He is chasing a few compressors from Canada hopefully will be able to get the part off of one of those. He said that the compressor just runs constantly and this part is used to make it work. I do not know much more than that. They make the compressors here in Texas and they do not know if they can just sell him the part. I appreciate the help you have offered, but I don't think VW sells just the part...

I got an 06 TDi Jetta into today and took a look at it. I'm guessing he needs the big switch @ the back of the compressor? It did not look serviceable. It looked like it was integrated with the compressor.

He has had it out, but you are right, i'm not sure it is replaceable. He was going to go to a compressor rebuilder place today to see about a replacement part... we'll see...

Here is what I have found. It is called an a/c compressor regulator valve N-280. It is implemented into the pump and is non-replaceable (according to VW).

We appreciate what you have come up with. He has given up finding just the part and is in search of a compressor from the junk yard, but if he has found nothing, looks like he will be buying a new one from the local VW dealership in town for $1000... Are they cheaper where you are?
