295/60 20s on Centerline Wilderness Bullets (stock backspacing) supposedly measure 34.8" new and they just barely fit a 3" lift with the lower control arm eccentrics full forward. There's a very slight rub near full steering lock on the lower rear of the OEM flare plastic corner. I'm going to install the longer Thuren arms at some point to alleviate this minor issue, when funding permits.

That pic was taken before I installed the OEM flares and as you can see, they just cleared the little rubber mud flap that was on there before by about 1/4".
Remember the wheel/tire combo is going to affect the results with non-fitment causing rubbing at either the control arms and/or the fender corner, depending. If you get super wide tires with the hot wheels-look offset you will need alot of lift like Dr. Evil says.

thats why i love this place, clear answers backed up with real world facts and figures.
I had previously seen very sporadic (1 or 2) posts around the internet claiming 35's on stock, and at least one 37 inch claim with the leveling kit, but not enough to make me comfortable pullin the trigger on 400 dollar tires.
And I know once you start turning and moving that suspension what looks like "plenty of room" standing next to the truck can quickly become a problem.
Thank you all for your input, I think I shall shoot for the 35's until my budget allows for my dream lift.

Also, keep in mind the size of lift depends on what you do with your truck. if its a highway queen or grocery getter you can likely get away with a smaller lift - but if you actually use it offroad (which i assume you will since you live in Alaska) your going to want a good deal more clearance between those big tires and the sheetmetal.
