Default Working On Diesel Trucks

I am new to wrenching on trucks, and so far have done a lift pump replacement, and feul filter change on my truck. I stood on top of a 5 gallon bucket to get enough height to work comfortably. I'm afraid one day the 'ol bucket may tip or slip. What do you guys do or use to stay comfortable and safe when working under the hoods of your trucks? -

Think I'll try one of those myself. I usually turn the front wheels all the way in either direction and stand on top of the tire. -
