Cams in diesels usually move the power band around more then add to the power. You see some gain but not like a gasser. I think you have alot more to do before you worry about a cam...

A cam can be the back bone of a diesel just as much as a gasser. A correctly done cam is done with the full equation in mind (head flow, amount of fuel, How much forced induction is taking place, will the truck be daily driving, how much compression is the truck going to run, Etc.) But like stated above a cam also plays a major role on where the power is made and how long it can carry out the power at x amount of Rpm
