ok just got another diesel with an automatic ,,,,,stuck in overdrive all the time ,,,replaced od button but no luck ! traced wires and everything is good ,,,is there a control module or something i can replace or do i have bigger issues

 

Define "Stuck in overdrive". If you mean that you cant turn OD off, its the wiring inside the shifter that broke. Change out the whole handle. Can test by taking plastic off the collumn, unplugging the 3 wire connector from the shifter, and using a jumper wire to simulate the button being pushed (Do with it running), then test drive

 

yea thanks for reply ! first things first ,, had to get some reading glasses ,,couldnt see a thing ! and yea after a testing the plug i had 12v ,,,after continuity test on the shifter all wires were dead ,,,ran a phone line (cause wires same gauge) from plug to shfter button ,,,works great now will see if i can find a shifter in the scrap yrd or craigs list parts truck
