Hello, hoping you all can give me some help. I have a 2009 6.4 powerstroke. Just today my truck acted like it was stuck in 5th gear bc I was going about 80 and running around 2900 rpm. Typically it's closer to 2000. On my way back home I went 80 again and the rpms were closer to 2000 like they normally are. Also, I've had problems where the tranny gets stuck in 1st. Its also done it in second. Basically sometimes it doesn't want to up shift. Will changing the tranny fluid and filter potentially cure the issue or is it something more major? It does not do it every time I drive it.

 

I've also got a mini maxx tuner that I'm wanting to put back on and I understand that changes the shift schedules? I had to take it off so I could take my truck into Ford bc it was blowing coolant out of the cap. Confirmed not head gaskets by Ford but it blew a little out today again. That's a whole nother issue than the tranny though.

 

I'm having issues with mine as well, seems like it doesn't want to go into overdrive. I am taking it in on Wednesday to have the flash checked. One theory is the speed sensors.
