I have an '08 F350, 6.4 P-Stroke, automatic, 4X. My owners manual specifically says only to use Mercon SP fluid in it. I'd imagine since the manual was written that someone has updated their formula and/or Ford has approved an alternative.
I've beat up the web; Valvoline's website says their High Mileage fully synthetic ATF is compatible but the label doesn't indicate SP as a compatible.

I don't mind getting SP from my local dealer because the price is reasonable, but the dealer is the only place I've been able to find SP on the shelf.
Any suggestions?
