Default V2203di ranger

Hi everyone, I have a 2000 ranger, 2wd extra cab. My family owns a refrigeration buisness and I got my hands on a v2203di kubota. I've read about a few of the conversions on this site, and I've been working on diesels/doing engine swaps for a while and thought this was a cool idea. My question is with a 3300lb truck, 5spd and turbo, what kind of performance can I expect? I know it won't be a rocket ship, but anyone ever ran the 1/4 or 0-60mph times on one? Any info is much apreciated.

We have a lot of members here who have done swaps in rangers , jeeps , ect ,

if you look on youtube there are some videos of swaps driving around .

They look to be plenty roadable ..

I Have a v2203 myself that im putting in a IH scout (or thats the plan .. )
I plan on offering some parts like a turbo header for a little better flow ..

Well my 89 2wd super cab 5spd Ranger weighs 3800 lbs and lacks no power. It has more than enough power to blast down the freeway passing at will and gets 38-40 mpg's I have no complaints, and am in the process of putting one in my 2001 Sport Trac.

That's great, thanks for the replies. I Figured they would do pretty well, they turn over a six cylinder compressor at 350-375psi head pressure on the carrier units without even bogging down. The stock (m5r1?) ranger clutch/trans seems to handle the torque no problem? I have a wc t5 from a mustang that I was going to use, as truck was originally an auto, but a trans made for a ranger would be ideal.

Well, i built up a 5.0 mustang engine, so it has that with an aod auto. Was gonna do a manual trans swap, but I've always loved diesels so I'm thinking of going that route. That's why I have the t5 trans. I know the kubota won't pull like a 5.0 but I'm loving the idea of good mpg and that down low power.

Thank wild. Yes I have a sbf adapter. Will use you existing starter, clutch and flywheel, you would need to get it neutral balanced.

I was originally going T5 in my courier but changed to a Gm T56.

Unfortunetly I do not have any videos of the Ford unit but if you check youtube for my Chevy units. Also I have a listing for the Chevy on eBay.

Search v2203 and Chevy

Thanks
Ken

I'm converting the Sport trac over to manual and am using a 6spd from a Nissan Frontier, the gear ratios should be perfect!
