Default 04.5 5.9 CUMMINS LIGHT BLACK SMOKE AT IDLE

i recently bought this truck it sat for about a year the lady used it on her farm its got about 171,xxx miles on it. b4 i ever started the truck i did a oil changed and replaced all the filters and pulled the common rail off to make sure there wasn't any rust or its in it. everything looked good. so then i threw my new batteries on it and cranked her up. trucked idled good sounded alright. so i took it for a ride and i noticed it was black smoking alot more than it should for being bone stock. So i figured it might be the old diesel that was in it so i put 10 gallons in it and some POWER SERVICE DIESEL KLEEN + CETANE BOOST as well. from there i went and drove it again truck continued to smoke like b4 but this time when i got to the house the truck was smoking enough at idle that you could see it fairly good. A very knowledgeable friend of mine said it was more than likely a leaking injector. I don't know if the lady i bought it from drove it with it leaking or not so he said to pull the injectors and do a compression test on it to see if she washed out a cylinder.

so i guess where im going with this is if it is the injectors wheres the best place to get the compression test adapter for a 24v. and also what psi should the cylinders be reading. and any other input or help would be great.

thanks

any diesel needs at least 300 psi to start...compression tester you can get from cornwell tools or harbor freight...scott
