Default stalling

I have a ford f250 7.3 diesel idi extended cab and I seem to have air going to the fuel filter. It will idle all day long and drive ok for a few minutes, but when I press the fuel pedal the fuel filter light comes on and (I have changed the fuel filter and fuel pump because I was told it could be the lift pump) then it stalls. I can let it sit for a few minutes and start it back up again and it will run ok for a few minutes but then it stalls.

Has anyone got any ideas that are hopefully not too expensive??

Thanks in advance

these trucks sometime, get leaks around the base of the filter, if you are leaking fuel, you should see fuel laying on top of the engine, between the two cylinder heads, or you could be sucking air where the leak is, not to sure, but those housings are not cheap to replace.

this guess goes off of you saying that everytime you put the pedal down.

I would also check you oil level.

Have you had the cps replaced?

you said you replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump, did you replace the lift pump, or did you mean that you replaced the lift pump and the fuel filter?

Check all of your lines and fittings from your tank to your engine for cuts and scrapes, when you are sure the lines are perfectly intact, then come back and we will diagnose it further.
