English Bulldogs
Anyone here have a English Bulldog? I've had English Mastiffs for 20+ yrs. and thinking about English Bulldog to keep my Mastiff company. Any thoughts or pros or cons on this breed. At least I could pick up my bulldog and go. Mastiffs are a whole different story. The guy I have now is 8.5 yrs but going strong @228lbs. My other one I had to put down last year,(Cancer) And I sure do miss him but not as bad as Magnum ( My Dog Now) does.

I got an english bull dog. They are great animals mine is 8, and we are on the verge of having to put him down. I dont know the tech terms here, but this is what I know.
Breathing problems- a lot of them have small throats and it can be hard to breath
Hip problems- dont know this exacly, but there hips go bad easy from what i hear
Heart Problems- Ours has an enlarged heart which we were told is extremely common in this breed
Dental- The gums grow over the teeth, and need to be surgericaly trimed from time to time.
But they have proved to be a very loving dog, but for a long term one, I wouldn't count on it. Others may have had better experiances.
