Question Tire Question???

I've been dealing/selling tires for a long time and I have never seen anything like this before. I looking for some tire for our van and I found a set of kelly Snowtrakker ST2 brand new for $200 bucks. I went and looked @ them yesterday and all four of them have 2 drilled/bore holes in the sidewall, opposite of each other. The holes do not go all the way thru, about 1/2 way through the rubber sidewall.

My guess is there blems and this how there identified??? I would think this was done to improve snow/ice handling???

Anybody ever seen this or heard of this???

I have never seen this, sounds a little strange. I would think that the holes on the sidewall would weaken the tires.

they were done like that cause there was probably a warranty issue with them and the companies usually require you to cut out the DOT number and send it in or drill holes in it and send pics of it and the DOT number

yea that my question. do they still have dot numbers? normally belmished tires have the word blem burnt into the sidewall.

i know the tires on my work truck(2000 f550) have 4 diviots in the sidewalls. about half inch wide. probly 1/4 inch deep. truck weights 15000 lbs and no problems yet.

get some pics if you can.

I don't think I'd buy them...I'd say report the guys for selling faulty tires!
Especially with the price set that low...that's way TGTBT
